ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Linguist Experience Team [LX] is where the mission of Jeenie is actualized. LX is our most innovative and on demand part of the business, matching interpreters with people in need. LX is multifaceted with a team of internal ops overseeing 1000’s of interpreters globally. In case you didn’t pick up on it, LX is kind of a big deal.

 

ABOUT THE POSITION

Jeenie aims to provide the highest quality of interpreting for our clients and we take this responsibility very seriously. We only work with interpreters who share our goal for delivering an exceptional customer experience and who meet our high standards, including the requirements here. This is an independent contractor position.


ABOUT YOU
Here’s what we believe our best applicants bring with them into the role:

  • Fluent ASL and spoken English skills:
    • Must hold one or more of the following current certifications:
      • RID (CI, CT, SC:L, NIC)
      • NAD (Levels 3-5)
      • BEI (Levels 3-5, Advanced or Master)
    • Registry or licensure in your current state of residence
  • Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a respectful and professional attitude with customers and colleagues
  • Able to provide an accurate interpretation for a variety of clients in a variety of settings
  • Hardwired internet connection (minimum 10 mbps upload and download)
  • Desktop or laptop computer with external webcam (minimum 1080p resolution) and corded headset with microphone
  • A quiet, private workspace for confidential calls with a solid colored professional background (blue, black or gray)

Additional items necessary to be a medical interpreter at Jeenie

  • 3+ years as a medical interpreter
  • HIPAA certification and HIPAA policy compliance
  • Thorough knowledge of and adherence to the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct
  • Individual Business Associate Agreement compliance
  • Acknowledgement of guidelines as outlined by the company
  • Support and model the company's mission and values
  • Healthcare domain knowledge: degrees, work, significant studies
  • Multi-task between interpreting effectively and utilizing video-based technology
